MedAire Forms Crisis Team for Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Warnings

Due to the 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Japan and subsequent tsunamis that have developed along the Pan-Pacific region (incorporating the Americas and Australasia), MedAire has activated a crisis management team to assist our aviation and maritime clients who are located in (or traveling to) the affected areas.

While there are reports of infrastructure damage in Tokyo, we would like to confirm the local Tokyo response center is communicating with our worldwide Global Response Centers, including MedLink and our Medical Advisory Service.

We are monitoring the situation closely and have activated medical, security, logistics and aviation resources to provide special assistance.

For the most up-to-date information and advice, we encourage our clients’ travelers to visit our MedAire online portal and/or enroll in our alerts within the portal. For portal registration assistance, please contact your account manager.

Clients traveling to an affected region may also submit a Trip Watch, ensuring we have a record of the trip. Our team will provide each client with a case number in the event a medical situation arises.

If you have concerns relating to the health or well-being of your crew and travelers, please call our Global Response Center and speak with one of our experts. You may also send an email to JapanCrisis [@] MedAire [dot] com.
